AEMA Mission Statement
The vision of the Association of Emory Muslim Alumni is to coordinate a community of motivated alumni to represent the interests of Muslim alumni at Emory University. AEMA envisages nurturing an array of versatile interpersonal associations among its membership and with other participants in the Emory community including students, alumni, faculty, staff, and administrators. AEMA also envisions vociferously advocating the non-academic and academic needs of Muslim students from all divisions of Emory University. This vision encourages the active involvement of Muslim alumni in making positive contributions to the alma mater and facilitating as well as enhancing the Muslim experience at Emory University.
In the quest to fulfill our organizational vision, our mission as the Association of Emory Muslim Alumni decrees the motivated pursuit of sustained interaction, with acumen as well as decorum, amongst the realm of our membership as well as between us and all other interested parties. We enthusiastically facilitate networking amongst our membership. In addition, we empower our members to broaden the scope of networking, at any time, to reach out to the different layers of the Emory Muslim community and/or the larger Emory community. We aspire to make positive contributions to the alma mater in ways that encompass, but are not limited to, the provision of awards, internships, mentoring partnerships, professional development, career guidance workshops and other career enhancing opportunities for students. Moreover, our positive contributions in this quest do include supporting and promoting, discourse and subject matter pertaining to Islam and Islamic Studies, interfaith dialogue, and appropriate institutional enhancements.
