Association of Emory Muslim Alumni - What We Do

What We Do

The Association of Emory Muslim Alumni (AEMA) was formed to serve various functions for both alumni and current students.  The members of AEMA represent the interests of Muslim alumni at Emory, support the activities of Muslim students currently at Emory, and facilitate the networking of Emory’s Muslim alumni.  Its primary mission is to perpetuate the ties between Emory Muslim students which were formed during their time at Emory University. This is done through a variety of means, including regular reunions and informal gatherings in cities across the country. In addition, the recently created members-only website which includes networking tools like an alumni resource guide and forums for job posting.

With regard to current students, AEMA has taken an active role in mentoring undergraduates. This includes hosting workshops and lectures designed to further the professional and intellectual development of Muslim students. Alumni have helped secure summer internships and full time employment for students in the private and public sector, including in the U.S. Congress, the NAACP and a host of law firms.
